GEF/IW:LEARN Geonode Mapping TOOLTools
Geonode is a customizable mapping tool from the Global Environment Facility’s (GEF) International Waters Learning Exchange and Resource Network (IW:LEARN) that allows users to browse and share geospatial data and to explore maps from existing content or upload and create maps from new content.
Using the tool, GEF/IW:LEARN projects and partner organizations can host and share geodata and maps online through the IW:LEARN server, and generate custom maps for embedding in their own website. Geonode allows users to upload, manage, visualize, and export public data into reusable formats. Under the maps heading, you can create a map using the cartography tool, or explore maps shared by others. Under the data heading, you can upload data, as well as search and manage existing data.
The data and maps have been pulled together with the help of GEF/IW:LEARN projects, partner organizations and other authoritative sources. Accepted data formats include are either Shapefile or GeoTIFF. Project teams must first, however, upload any relevant data and maps to be included in the Geonode tool.
