CTI-CFF Meeting on Stock Take and Investment CoordinationMeeting
(Meeting: 9 – 11 September 2014) These meetings follow from a number of initiatives, including the Regional Priorities Workshop held in Manado, Indonesia (August 2013), the Asian Development Bank-Global Environment Facility (GEF) Side Event at the Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fishers and Food Security (CTI-CFF) Special Senior Officials Meeting in May 2014, an ongoing stock take of CTI-CFF programs and projects, and a number of other CTI-CFF development partners and stakeholder consultations. It coincides with the winding down of core support provided by the United States Coral Triangle Support Program, a number of post-project and mid-term reviews, start-up of some recently approved programs/projects and activities to design new investments in the CTI-CFF.
Among the events objectives are to review programmatic, technical and financial challenges and gaps related to the implementation of CTI-CFF programs and projects; and to strengthen regional, national and local processes toward the achievement of CTI-CFF goals and targets, which include re-affirming commitments of development partners, exploring new types of partnership, and encouraging greater coordination of CTI-CFF programs and projects.
This meeting will be followed on the second day by the CTI-CFF Development Partners Meeting which will review and update the status of establishment and ongoing operations of the regional secretariat, and develop a plan of action for the regional secretariat and related CTI-CFF institutional processes during the transition period.
On the third day, the CTI-CFF Financial Resources Working Group Meeting will be held which will review the initial findings of the CTI-CFF financial resources study, review the draft outline of the CTI-CFF financial resources strategy for CTI CSO review during the 10th Senior Officials Meeting in November 2014 in Timor-Leste.
